Origin

1st-5th metatarsals (two heads on opposing sides)²

Insertion

• 1st interosseous: 2nd proximal phalanx (medial base)²
• 2-4 interosseous:
  • 2-4 proximal phalanges (lateral base)²
  • 2-4 toes at dorsal aponeurosis²

Innervation

Lateral Plantar N. (S2, S3)²

Action

• MTP 2-4: Flexion²
• IP 2-4: Extension²
• Toes 3-4: Abduction from 2nd toe²
