Motor Endplate
The motor endplate is a part of the neuromuscular junction1. The motor endplate refers to the multiple branching nerve terminals that invaginate upon the surface of the muscle fiber, but does not penetrate the muscle fiber plasma membrane1. The motor endplate is covered by one or more Schwann cells that insulate it from the surrounding fluids1.
