The Spine
A normal spine consists of curvature in the sagittal plane where the cervical and lumbar segments are in lordosis and the thoraic segment is in kyphosis1.
A number of anatomic factors influence this curvature:
- Wedge-shaped intervertebral discs (IVDs)
- Spatial orientation of the apophyseal (facet) joints1.
- Histologic composition of ligaments1.
- Degree of natural muscle stiffness1.
Multi-segmental Spine Exercises
- hooklying on table
- DNS 3.5 (deadbug position)
- Bridge
- Quadriped spinal waves
- Caudal and rostral initiation
- Standing lumbar reversals
Pelvic dissasociation
Exercises
- Banded standing pelvic dissasociation against wall
