Origin

Anterior medial hip capsule¹

Insertion

Inserts just distal to the lesser trochanter so that it overlies the anterior hip capsule¹

Action

Its function is to help stabilize and tighten the anterior hip capsule

Function

The iliocapsularis muscle has been found to be hypertrophied in dysplastic hips relative to normal hips
