Transverse Ligament of the Humerus
Forms the roof of the intertubercular groove1
Function
Traditionally, the transverse ligament was believed to play a role in LH biceps tendon stability, but recent literature contradicts this1. The Transverse Ligament is now believed to be continuous with RTC tendons and the Coracohumeral Ligament1. In addition, the presence of free nerve endings in the Transverse Ligament indicate that it could be a source of pain in the shoulder1.
