When the biceps contract, the radius could dislocted “proximately”¹, if the annular ligament did not prevent it¹. Patients with annular ligament tears, commonly experience proximal and anterior radial dislocations during from the slightest degree of flexion following biceps contraction¹.

The annular ligament is supported by the anterior fibers of the radial collateral ligament¹.
