When the biceps contract, the radius could dislocted “proximately”, if the annular ligament did not prevent it. Patients with annular ligament tears, commonly experience proximal and anterior radial dislocations during from the slightest degree of flexion following biceps contraction.

The annular ligament is supported by the anterior fibers of the radial collateral ligament.
