Zona Orbicularis (Anular Ligament)
The zona orbicularis is the lesser known “4th hip ligament” which is overshadowed by the Big 3 hip ligaments (ischiofemoral, iliofemoral, pubofemoral).
Anatomy
The Zona orbicularis (anular ligament) is not visible in most anatomy diagrams since it “encircles the femoral neck like a button hole”1.
