Subtrochanteric Bursa
Palpation
According to Dutton@duttonDuttonOrthopaedicExamination2020, the subtrochanteric bursa cannot be palpated.
Abduction ISO Test
The subtrochanteric bursa can be tested by positioning the patient in hyperadduction and performing an isometric abduction contraction1.
This maximally compresses the subtrochanteric bursa and will provoke symptoms if subtrochanteric bursitis is present1
